On Oct 20-21, Dr. Xuezhong Yu, Senior Environmental Specialist at Ecofish attended the CHINCOLD 2016 Annual Meeting & International Conference on Reservoirs and Dams in Xi’an, Shaanxi, China. The Chinese National Committee on Large Dam’s (CHINCOLD) annual conference is the largest hydropower industry event in China. This year alone, the conference drew in over 600 participants from 17 countries.
Dr. Xuezhong presented “Framework for the Assessment and Implementation of Environmental Flows of Hydro Projects” at the session for Environmental Flows and River Restoration of Hydroelectric Projects. Dr. Xuezhong summarized the structure, methodology, and application of a three-level framework for assessing and implementing environmental flows of a hydropower project. This session was co-hosted by China Three Gorges Corporation and the Nature Conservancy.
